When the Center started in 1993, soup and sandwiches were served to 8 guests the first day; a total of 1535 meals were served that first year. Currently the Dining & Caring Center serves 4 breakfasts, one lunch and a Sunday dinner each week. In 2004 we served 40% more meals than we did in 2002-a total of 18,460 meals. We've evolved in other ways, too. The Dining & Caring Center supports a bicycle ministry program that supplies free refurbished bikes to our guests. It also provides free laundry facilities, showers and haircuts, and much, much more!

The Asbury Dining & Caring Center is a major outreach ministry of the Asbury First United Methodist Church. Located in the basement of 1010 East Avenue, the Center provides meals and other services for the homeless and hungry in the Rochester community with generosity and compassion.
